In 1851, the young fishmonger John Scott opened his oyster warehouse on Coventry Street in Piccadilly which rapidly evolved into the famous seafood restaurant and oyster bar known as Scott's.  Through the decades Scott's was to become one of London's most fashionable and glamorous meeting places for film stars, politicians and writers, and in 1968 moved to its present Mayfair location on Mount Street off Berkeley Square.

Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, declared Scott's to be his favourite restaurant, and it was reportedly here that he discovered the legendary dry martini - shaken not stirred.

Acquired by Caprice Holdings in 2005, the restaurant has been returned to its former glory as a seafood restaurant and oyster bar.
